Our story
Born at the base of the wall.
GymBelay was founded by two climbers who spent more time waiting in line than on the wall. We loved the sport but kept running into the same friction: paper waivers handed out at the door, a whiteboard class schedule that was already out of date, a POS system that locked up on busy Saturday mornings, and no way to know if a beginner slot was open before making the drive. Every tool the gym used felt like it was built for a different kind of business. So we built the platform we wished existed — one that treats the climbing gym as its own operating environment, not an afterthought of generic fitness software.

Built to scale
Infrastructure that holds.
We built GymBelay the same way we approach a hard route: with structure, redundancy, and no shortcuts. The platform runs as a microservices system — each operational domain is an independent service that can be updated, scaled, or recovered without affecting the rest of the platform.
Microservices architecture
Members, classes, POS, payroll, notifications, and reporting each run as isolated services. A surge in check-in traffic does not slow down billing. A deployment to the notification service does not require restarting the member API.
Event-driven reliability
Services communicate through an Apache Kafka message bus. If a downstream service is temporarily unavailable, no data is lost — events queue and replay when it recovers. Critical workflows like payment processing and waiver collection are never blocked by an unrelated service failure.
Cloud-native on AWS
GymBelay is deploying on Amazon Web Services using Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Each service runs in its own container, auto-scales under load, and is isolated from failures in adjacent services. Multi-region failover and automated backups are part of the production roadmap.
